Welcome Back Rancho Valencia!
The wait is over! Today, I had the great opportunity of visiting Rancho Valencia Resort and Spa, following a much anticipated 30 million dollar renovation. They have been closed since January of 2012 and are planning to re-open their doors to the public in October of 2012 with a transformed atmosphere. As the only Relais & Châteaux property in San Diego, Rancho Valencia has maintained their 5 C’s (character, calm, charm, courtesy and cuisine) and has added a sixth: “chic!”
I did snap a few photographs from my handy iPhone to share but I certainly suggest an in person visit to the property to truly embrace all that they have to offer.
The authentic hacienda style has been maintained throughout the design and the integrity of the resort has not been compromised. New additions include the cowboy chic Pony Bar and decadently private Wine Cave. From a venue standpoint, there are quite a few upgrades and changes made resulting in a more open and spacious setting for your wedding or event. Great consideration was given to weddings during the renovation including an expansive Bridal Ready Room complete with a salon style sink. This is truly a five star experience for brides, grooms and guests alike.

One of my favorite parts of Rancho Valenica is the Hacienda. This 5,000-square-foot adobe home is a perfectly private setting offering an intimate back garden, private pool and hot tub, a full kitchen, wood-burning fireplaces in almost every room and three separate bedroom suites, each with a deluxe private bath. We are talking about a private home with an exclusive poolside event space set in the middle of paradise. Yes please! I have included some pictures below.
On a personal note, I (we) chose to have our wedding at Rancho Valencia six years ago and it will always have a very special place in my heart. I am very much looking forward to sharing “my” venue with couples looking for a location that offers privacy, charm, service, cuisine and comfort in a lush intimate setting.
